Paris Proof is a sustainability standard created by the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) that establishes ambitious energy and carbon reduction targets for buildings. The framework is designed to ensure that buildings operate within a significantly lower energy footprint, aligning with the Paris Climate Agreement’s.

Paris Proof is inspired by the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM), which provides a structured decarbonization pathway for real estate assets to meet the Paris Agreement’s goal. Relative to CRREM, Paris Proof emphasizes direct energy consumption reduction rather than simply carbon offsetting or compensating through renewables.
